The Plaza de Armas is the most important public space in the Peruvian city of Cajamarca and one of the largest in the country.
It is a key place in the history of Peru as it was the scene of the fall of the Inca Empire with the execution of the Inca Atahualpa. Currently, there is a large carved stone fountain from the 18th century. It is located in the Historic Center of Cajamarca.
Surrounding it are the cathedral, the church of San Francisco, the City Hall and beautiful colonial houses that make it a city with great Spanish influence and one of the most important in the country.
