Kuang Si Falls, Luang Prabang

The Kuang Si Falls or Kuang Xi Falls, alternatively known as the Tat Kuang Si Waterfalls, is a three-tiered waterfall about 29 km (18 mi) south of Luang Prabang, Laos.

The waterfalls are a favorite side trip for tourists in Luang Prabang, and begin in shallow pools atop a steep hillside.

These lead to the main fall with a drop of 60 m (200 ft).

Bear Rescue Center.
In collaboration with the Laos Department of Forestry, construction of the Tat Kuang Si Bear Rescue Centre in Luang Prabang began in 2003.

  • Eventually three bear houses were built with a capacity for 25 rescued bears.
