Llama del Bosque Restaurant

This was the first restaurant in Copán Ruinas founded in 1975, and those who have been visiting the city for a long time do not stop seeing this cozy and familiar place with affection.

The specialty of the house is the typical food from Copan, so you cannot miss trying the meat or the baked pig. And how can we forget the barbecue! An anafre of homemade beans with tortilla chips; beef, chicken and chorizo, chimol, cheese, butter, plantain and avocado. The restaurant has capacity for 150 people, for large groups they offer a discount.

Church of St. Joseph the Worker.
The Catholic Church of St. Joseph the Worker Iglesia de San José Obrero), located in the park of Copán Ruinas, is a colonial-style parish.

  • Copán Ruinas is a municipality in the Honduran department of Copán. The town, located close to the Guatemalan border, is a major gateway for tourists traveling to the Pre-Columbian ruins of Copán.

Anafre de frijoles.
Anafre de frijoles is a traditional Honduran dish that's usually served as an appetizer.

  • It consists of fried red or black beans, melted cheese, and fresh corn tortilla chips. The combination of these ingredients is served in anafre, a small clay pot with hot coals underneath it.
  • The clay pot has several holes in order to let oxygen in and keep the coals lit. Other ingredients that can be added to anafre de frijoles include chorizo and hot peppers. This unusual and visually appealing dish is also served as a snack accompanying a few bottles of cold beer.
