Dance in Burma (since 1989 known as Myanmar) can be divided into dramatic,
folk and village, and nat dances, each having distinct characteristics.
Although Burmese dance resemble the traditional dancing style of its
neighbours, in particular Thailand, it retains unique qualities that
distinguish it from other regional styles, including angular, fast-paced and
energetic movements and emphasis on pose, not movement.
Taungyo people dance.
The Taungyo are a sub-ethnic group of the Bamar people living primarily
in Shan State and centered on Pindaya

Shan men and women new year dance.
The Shan are the biggest minority of Burma (Myanmar) and primarily live
in the Shan State of this country.

Most Shan speak the Shan language and are bilingual in Burmese. The
Shan language, spoken by about 5 or 6 million, is closely related to
Thai and Lao, and is part of the family of Tai languages.

Pa'O people dance.
The Pa'O are the seventh largest ethnic nationality in Burma.

Historically, the Pa'O wore colourful clothing until King Anawratha
defeated the PaO King, Makuta of Thaton. The Pa'O were enslaved and
forced to wear indigo-dyed clothing to signify their status.

The Pa'O people of upper Myanmar commonly wear black or navy blue. The
traditional outfit of the Pa'O consists of a turban, a white shirt,
black or navy jacket and long black trousers for men.

State of Burma, Yunnan Province of China and Northern Thailand.
