Nanmyin Tower, Inwa

The site of the deserted Palace of Ava is now marked by a solitary masonry 27 metres (89 ft) high watchtower, an example of early 19th century Burmese architecture.

It is all that remains of the stately Palace reared by King Bagyidaw.

The way to the tower is by horse-drawn cart.

Nanmyin Tower.
The location of the Nanmyin Tower was once the old site of Inwa Palace.

  • But after war migration and earthquakes, in addition to the broken leaning tower, no other buildings can be seen here.
  • The tower stands 27 meters high and gives a bird's eye view of the entire ancient city.
  • However, climbing has been banned because it is now heavily tilted.
