Yusuf Koç Church

Yusuf Koç Church is located on the slope between Bezirhane and Durmuş Kadir Church, and has taken its name from the owner of the land it is located in, just like in Durmuş Kadir. We think that this church was used because of its small size and its four walls full of paintings, probably due to the special interest in the illustrated churches, to sin, to hold baptism ceremonies or to make vows. In fact, there is no other church around Avcılar besides Yusuf Koç. This type of illustrated churches are located on the other side of the hill and the "Open Air Museum".

It has a cross vault and a cross plan. It has two apses and four columns. Some of the columns are broken. Destruction is visible in the paintings of the saints, but their names can be read. The donors of the church are illustrated in different parts of the church, including husband and wife and sons dressed in military. The church resembles the Hidden Church in Zemi Valley in style. The building is dated to the 11th century.
