Ornate Popular Streets

The Festival of Trays is essentially a party of color and movement. One of the most characteristic ways for the population to show their joy at the celebration is the ornamentation of its streets, called popular because most of them are in the so-called historic center of the city where the neighborhood still lives.

Thus, hundreds of people spend thousands of hours working for more than six months, making thousands of paper flowers with which to decorate their streets. The ornamentation is his authorship and responsibility and the secret is always kept until Friday night when the popular streets are officially opened. The talent and work of the "decorators" is awarded and evaluated by the Commission, which offers plaques that reward, for example, Color, Harmony, Tradition and all competing streets are covered.
