Mingun, Sagaing

Mingun is a town in Sagaing Township of Sagaing Region, north-west Myanmar (Burma), located 11 km up the Ayeyarwady River on the west bank from Mandalay. Its main attraction is the ruined Mingun Pahtodawgyi.

Bhaddanta Vicitta Sarabhivamsa was the leader of the Bonzes, an abbot who died in 1992.

Mingun Home for the Aged was established by Daw Oo Zun herself in 1915 with a perspective to taking care of the destitute elder.
